The monks of Drepung Loseling Monastery will create a sand mandala and perform at the College of Idaho from Sept. 26 through Sept. 30, 2016.
The opening ceremony will take place at noon, Monday, Sept. 26 in the Langroise Center. The public is invited to watch the monks create the sand mandala from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 26 through Sept. 29 in the Langroise Center Lobby.
The closing ceremony will begin at noon on Friday, Sept. 30 in the lobby. In a display of impermanence, the mandalas colored sand will be used to bless Indian Creek. There is no charge for the activities in the Langroise Center.
The monks will present an evening concert of sacred dance, music and chanting on Friday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. in Jewett Auditorium. Adult tickets are $20, $25 and $35. Children tickets are $10, $15, and $25. Tickets are available at: www.caldwellfinearts.org and by phone, 208-459-5275.
