Laungpoo Sommai Attamano is a Vipassana meditation monk in the Theravada Buddhism forest monk tradition.  He is a disciple of Luang Poo Mun Puritatto.  He is the Abbot of Wat Pah Santikawat, which he established, in Chaiwan District, Udon Ratchathani Province, Thailand.  It is in the Northeast of Thailand.  He is 76 years old and has been ordained for 55 years (pansa).  Laungpoo Prasatsin Abhivanno, is also a Vipassana

meditation monk in the Theravada Buddhism forest monk tradition.  He is the Abbot of Wat Pah Nongwang in Udon Ratchathani Province, the northeast part of Thailand.  He is 69 years old and has been ordained for 49 years (pansa).
Laungpoo Sommai and Laungpoo Prasatsin both emphasize teaching the Dhamma to show the natural truth that the body and mind are not the self, and that we should not cling to the self, so the mind is free from suffering.

* The definition of Laungpoo is senior by age and ordination. Monks have honorific titles bases on seniority. A laungpoo is a very senior monk, with at least 40 “pansa” (years ordained).  Monks are also referred to as “The Venerable Sommai” which is similar to “The Honorable”

A layperson from Thailand, Khun Nom, will accompany the monks.  He will gratefully receive any dana offered.

*Please consider offering dana for their teachings either through the Venmo link below, cash or check.
