Iyengar yoga isn’t like other forms of yoga. It goes beyond the physical mechanics of form and styles and integrates body, mind, and emotions. Instead of pushing to reach a specific pose (and possibly getting hurt), the Iyengar method emphasizes consistent practice that’s about the journey more than the goal.
Starting in July, the BIBS is happy to welcome a new class called “Moving Meditation”, taught by Carrie Nutt. Carrie’s class is based on the Iyengar method and supports students of all backgrounds, from novice beginners to advanced practitioners.
Yoga transformed me, and not in some woo woo, spiritual way, but through abhyasa and vairagya, practice and non-attachment. … Yoga is a processes, not a magic bullet.
~ Carrie Nutt
If you’ve ever thought about trying yoga, Iyengar yoga is one of the most approachable methods available. Because of its slow, methodical pace, we believe that it’s also one of the easiest forms of yoga to master.
For a full class schedule, please see our BIBS calendar.
Classes are online throughout the week (with a new Sunday morning class starting August 18).
There is also a Sunday morning class in person at the BIBS center at 5 p.m.
All are welcome. Please see the class page for pricing.
