How to calm your mind in meditation and everyday life.
Jhampa Shaneman, a renowned Buddhist teacher in the Tibetan tradition, will lecture on “Taming the Mind” a Buddhist practice both indispensable for attaining liberation and important to a peaceful life. These teachings are foundational practices suitable to individuals that are new to Buddhism. For experienced students, this is a great opportunity to refine and deepen one’s practice of calm abiding.
Dates and Times:
September 24, 2021, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
September 25, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
September 26, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Potluck lunch to follow.
Suggested donation is $15.00 per session or $60.00 for the entire weekend. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Location:
September 24 and 25 teachings will be at the LTTT Buddhist Temple at 8813 W. Ardene Street, Boise. The location of the September 26 teachings and potluck lunch will be announced.
COVID-19 Etiquette:
Masks will be required when indoors. Teachings will be available via Zoom. Please see the transmittal email for a link. TVDF encourages anyone not vaccinated to choose Zoom attendance.
Treasure Valley Dharma Friends (TVDF) meets every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the LTTT Buddhist Temple located at 8813 W. Ardene St. The organization has been bringing renowned Buddhist teachers to Boise since 2001. TVDF promotes Buddhist practices such as meditation, book study and discussion groups. All are welcome.
